Week nine’s recipient the $10,000 Ironstone Impact donation was determined by a staff vote and Children’s Hospital was selected as the winner.
“We are truly grateful to Ironstone for choosing to stand by our kids at Children’s Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre, in their 9th week of giving back,” says Scott Fortnum, President and CEO of Children’s Health Foundation. “Their gift will help provide a lifeline to families who are struggling financially while in hospital, bringing hope and relief when it’s needed most.”
The donation will help fund the Family Assistance Program. Entirely donor funded, the Family Assistance Program helps families to worry less about money and instead, focus on what matters most: caring for their sick child. This support is particularly needed right now because of the impacts of COVID-19. The program provides financial resources for the coverage of in-hospital meals, groceries, parking, travel, medication, accommodation, internet access and more.
